Cookie Policy
Last updated: January 1, 2026
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work correctly, improve efficiency, and provide information to site operators. Cookies are not viruses or malware.
2. How We Use Cookies
NexFix uses cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:
- Essential Cookies: Required for the platform to function. These include session cookies that keep you logged in, CSRF protection tokens, and locale preferences. You cannot opt out of essential cookies without losing core functionality.
- Preference Cookies: Remember your language preference and UI settings across sessions.
- Analytics Cookies: Help us understand how users interact with the platform, which pages are most visited, and where errors occur. This data is aggregated and anonymized where possible.
- Security Cookies: Used to detect and prevent fraud, unauthorized access, and bot activity.
- AI Session Cookies: When you interact with AI-powered features such as chat assistance, a session identifier may be stored to maintain context within a single browsing session. This identifier is temporary and expires when your session ends.
3. Types of Cookies We Use
- Session Cookies: Temporary cookies that expire when you close your browser. Used to maintain your login session and AI chat context.
- Persistent Cookies: Cookies that remain on your device for a set period (up to 1 year). Used for language preferences and cookie consent records.
- First-Party Cookies: Set by NexFix directly (e.g., session tokens, locale, AI session identifiers).
- Third-Party Cookies: Set by our service providers, including Supabase (authentication), Google Maps (map embeds), and analytics providers.
4. Third-Party Cookies and AI Services
Our platform integrates with third-party services that may set their own cookies: • Google Maps API: When displaying maps, Google may set cookies in accordance with Google's Cookie Policy. • Supabase: Our authentication provider sets cookies to maintain your login session securely. • Anthropic AI API: AI features including photo analysis, description improvement, cost estimation, and chat assistance are powered by Anthropic, PBC. Anthropic's API is called server-side — Anthropic does not set browser cookies on your device through the NexFix platform. AI processing occurs on our servers, not in your browser. No Anthropic tracking cookies or pixels are loaded on NexFix pages. We do not use advertising or retargeting cookies. We do not share cookie data with advertising networks.
5. Cookie Consent
When you first visit the Service, you will be presented with a cookie consent banner. By clicking "Accept," you consent to the use of all cookies described in this policy. By clicking "Decline," only essential cookies required for the platform to function will be set. You may change your cookie preferences at any time by clearing your browser cookies or by adjusting your browser settings.
6. Managing Cookies in Your Browser
Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can: (a) View what cookies are stored on your device; (b) Delete existing cookies; (c) Block some or all cookies from being set; (d) Set your browser to alert you when cookies are being set. Note that blocking essential cookies will prevent you from using core features of the Service, including logging in and maintaining your session. For instructions on managing cookies in your browser: • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies • Safari: Preferences → Privacy • Firefox: Options → Privacy & Security • Edge: Settings → Privacy, Search and Services
7. Do Not Track
Some browsers include a "Do Not Track" (DNT) feature. Currently, there is no universal standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals. We do not currently respond to DNT signals but will revisit this as standards develop.
8. Cookie Retention Periods
- Session cookies: Expire when browser is closed.
- Authentication cookies: Expire after 7 days of inactivity.
- AI session context cookies: Expire when browser session ends.
- Language preference cookies: Expire after 1 year.
- Cookie consent record: Expires after 1 year.
- Google Maps cookies: Subject to Google's own retention policies.
9. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy as our practices change or new technologies emerge. We will notify you of significant changes by updating this page and, where appropriate, by presenting an updated consent banner.
